Check In and Check Out
Check-in any time after 3PM and prior to 9PM; later check-ins may be accommodated on advance request with a minimum of 48 hours notice. Check-out at 11AM. A late check-out fee applies to all late check-out requests. Late check-outs are subject to availability. Late checkouts without advance approval are subject to a minimum $300 fee.
Cancellation Policy
We require a minimum 7 days’ notice prior to check-in time(before 3PM) in order to avoid a cancellation charge in the amount of one night's stay. This 7-day policy is also in effect for changing dates or total number of nights within a confirmed reservation and does not apply to prepaid or non-refundable reservations which cannot be cancelled or modified for any reason.
Registered Guests
You must be at least 18 years old to make a reservation or stay with us. Children aged 12 and older are permitted to stay in the hotel provided that a parent or legal guardian (of 18 years or over) is also staying in the room and the total occupancy does not exceed 2 guests. All guests staying in the room must provide a valid photo ID. Only registered hotel guests are permitted in your room or any indoor or outdoor common areas aside from the lobby. To ensure the comfort of each of our guests, all guests are required to abide by our Code of Conduct, a copy of which is available at check-in and in each guest room.
Payment
Payment due dates will vary based on the type of reservation made. Standard bookings will be payable on arrival, advanced purchase/discounted rates will be payable at the point the reservation is made.If payment does not reach us at the required time we reserve the right to suspend or cancel any booking made. Payment should be made in Canadian Dollars by cash, credit or debit card.
Security Deposit
Upon arrival at the Hotel, a deposit of $1000 (for any incidental charges during the stay) will be required. The deposit can be covered either with a valid credit/debit card or a cash deposit.
Parking
On-site parking is limited to one standard passenger vehicle per guest room. Additional, off-site parking for additional vehicles, RVs, trailers, etc. can be arranged on 48 hours’ advance notice at a fee of $100/day. Enquire with the Guest Services to reserve your off-site spot at info@thescotsmanhotel.ca including your estimated check-in and check-out times. Spots are limited and not guaranteed unless confirmed in advance. In-out privileges for vehicles parked off-site during the stay will be subject to staff availability and additional fee.
Non-Smoking Policy
We have a strict non-smoking/no-vaping policy in all indoor areas. If you smoke, vape, or burn any other combustible material in your room at any time during your stay, you will be asked to leave the inn without refund and a fine in the amount of the posted room rate will be applied to your bill foreach day of your stay. Smoking of tobacco products/vaping is limited to designated outdoor areas. Smoking/vaping of cannabis and other non-tobacco products is not permitted anywhere on site.
Consumption of Alcohol
Please arrange with guest services in advance for provisioning of in-room minibar. Alcohol may be consumed strictly by persons over the age of 19, in guest rooms and designated areas only. You are responsible to ensure the responsible consumption by you and your group. Any person who exhibits intoxicated or rowdy behavior may be asked to leave the inn without refund. Alcohol not purchased onsite can not be consumed on Hotel property. Guests who consume outside alcohol on-site may be asked to leave, but remain liable for room fees for the duration of the stay.
Pets and Service Animals
We are not able to welcome any pets or non-service animals in our Inn. Service Animals, defined as those that are trained to assist with specific tasks related to their handler's disability in accordance with theAODA and OHRC, are permitted in accordance with laws. Handlers are asked to provide a minimum 7 days’ notice with accompanying documentation from a physician or nurse confirming our guest’s need for a service dog to due to a disability, or an identification card from the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General for people who are blind and use a guide dog. For clarity, emotional support and other animals that do not have special Service Animal training, are not permitted. This policy is designed to protect the health, safety and comfort of our human guests and permitted Service Animals alike.
Bicycles and Recreational Equipment
Bicycles are made available for the use of guests on an as-is, first-come, first-serve basis. The hotel makes no representations or warranties as to the bicycles’ condition or fitness for use. Guests are solely responsible for providing their own helmets and other safety equipment, and for compliance with any and all applicable laws. All guests must sign the hotel’s waiver and release of liability prior to using bicycles that are made available by the hotel.
Theft & Wilful Damage
The removal of any item from your inn room or elsewhere in the inn or on the property without authorization, or the intentional or negligent damage to an inn room or inn property, is a breach of the terms and conditions of your stay and a criminal offence. If you remove any items from your inn room or wilfully damage the inn room, this will be regarded as a breach of the terms and conditions of your stay. We reserve the right to terminate your booking, contact the police and charge your payment card with:(1) the cost of replacing any removed item(s), (2) the cost of repairing the property where damaged, (3) the cost of the room or other area for any period it is unusable, and (4) our administrative expenses. We may also instruct a third party to recover these costs on our behalf.
Safety & Security
The concierge service is available from 7:30AM to 11PM. Inn doors will be locked from 11PM to 7:30AM; all access must be through the main entrance during those hours.
Music and fires are not permitted in outdoor common areas after 10PM.
Guests must not:
- Tamper with or cover any fire alarms or emergency equipment.
- Store items (personal or otherwise) which could cause damage to the room, or be a risk to the health and safety of our other guests, staff or property.
- Prevent us (including our maintenance and housekeeping staff) from accessing your room(s) as and when we reasonably require. We reserve the right to change your room allocation at any point during your stay for any reason.
- Remove, damage or destroy any of our property.
- Use any WiFi connection to download or access any unlawful, offensive, or obscene material.
- Cause any disturbance to our other guests or staff; or act in a manner which we determine to be indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, abusive, inflammatory, fraudulent, illegal or otherwise objectionable.
If you or your group cause damage or loss of any kind to the inn or other guests or their property, you (as the person making the booking) will be responsible for that damage or loss and you shall be liable to pay us on demand the amount required to make good or remedy such damage or loss.
If you or your group cause damage to the inn, other guests or their property, or otherwise breach any of these terms and conditions, we reserve the right to:
- Cancel key fobs or change locks.
- Restrict access to the inn and main amenity building.
- Remove your items from the room and inn and dispose of such items (at no cost and no liability) to a local charity to the extent such items are not collected from us within 14 days of the day of check-out.
- Retain all sums paid by you and/or charge you the full amount of your reservation.
- Refuse or cancel future reservations from you; and/or refuse you entry or accommodation at any of our inns.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel reservations made and stays in progress by those who have previously breached these terms and conditions (as may be updated from time to time), whether the reservation is in that name or not.
We will not be liable for any refund or compensation in any of the above circumstances.
General
We processyour personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Additional terms may apply to you if you book your stay via a third-party digital channel or booking service (such as Booking.com, Expedia etc.). We shall not be responsible for these terms or your compliance with them.
Bookings are non-transferable.
Except as prohibited by applicable law, we shall not be liable whether in contract, tort(including negligence) or for breach of statutory duty, or in any other way, for any indirect or consequential losses including:
- loss of profits, contracts or anticipated savings;
- loss of business or business interruption;
- loss of data;
- loss of reputation and/or goodwill; or
- wasted management or office time.
Where we are liable to you (except as prohibited by applicable law) our maximum liability to you whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or for breach of statutory duty shall in no event exceed the price of your reservation.
We reserve the right to make amendments to these terms from time to time. The terms applicable to your stay will be those in force on the date of booking. We recommend you review these terms every time you make a booking with us.
If any provision in these terms is found to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part then the provision will apply with whatever deletion or modification is necessary so that the provision is legal, valid and enforceable. You and we intend that the legality, validity and enforceability of the remainder of these terms shall not be affected.
Any failure by us to enforce our rights or remedies under these terms or otherwise or any delay in enforcing such rights or remedies shall not be construed as a waiver by us of those or any other rights or remedies.
The contract formed between us based on these Terms and Conditions is between you and Scotsman Hotel Inc. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms.
These Termsand Conditions shall be subject to the laws of the Province of Ontario and the Ontariocourts shall have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any disputes arising out ofor in connection with these Terms and Conditions howsoever arising.
