A Special Message From the Owners

 The romance began many years ago when we got engaged in the beautiful town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. We remember it like it was yesterday. The hotel was called the Oban Inn, surrounded by historical buildings setting the most picturesque backdrop for two people starting their lives together. Since then, it has been a favourite place of ours, taking a trip down memory lane whenever we visit.

The Scotsman Hotel is a tribute to all of the love and fond memories we have made in this beautiful town. It has been 37 years, but that same magical feeling has never faded.

Now that we live here, we have grown to love the area even more. We hope that all who visit experience the enchanting feeling that is woven through the beautiful town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.

History of the hotel

Niagara is steeped in rich history, and our building is a living testament to its remarkable past.

Following the War of 1812, the resilient town of Niagara-on-the-Lake underwent reconstruction. The house served as the town's inaugural Post Office, earning its contemporary name, the Post House. Embracing this historical legacy, the house later became the charming Post House Inn, a beloved Bed and Breakfast. After significant re-imagining and renovation, we are thrilled to offer our luxury hotel in a building with such deep roots in Niagara-on-the-Lake. We are very proud to call this home.

Today, with great enthusiasm, we step out and into the narrative of this captivating structure as The Scotsman Hotel, embracing and celebrating its cherished heritage.
